  • this is goign to be probably hard to bankroll. i ll keep refining the ideas and dreaming. most of my ”schemes” are a little out there. thanks again for the comments.

    potential location
    112 6th St, Boise, Ada, Idaho 83702

i pretend i am scouting locations when i walk around in the morning and on my lunches.

  • Another idea: One stop shopping for pre-holiday specialty sales. Valentines’ Day for instance. Several vendors could be on hand to sell/ take orders/ sell gift certificates for flowers, chocolate, dinner for two, massage, day at the spa. You get the idea.

  • Many non-profits hold auctions in conjunction with annual fund raising events. They’re getting smart about using services like Auction Frog to expand the audience and time period. Perhaps the storefront could be a physical preview site for the auction items. That way more people can view and bid prior to the actual event.

  • My hope is that artisans or other startups could publicly exhibit their wares as a form of promotion and then rely perhaps on door-to-door sales (bicycle delivery perhaps) and internet web stores (etsy maybe) to continue the business.

I know there are local people that have skills and products that I could probably use, but I’ll never here about them except word of mouth (networking like on here) or perhaps wandering in front of the revolving storefront. Catering companies perhaps could have a presence and serve the business crowd lunch. There are a lot of possibilities with this model.

Anyone else want to chime in on the ideal candidate? Can we duplicate the NYC effort. I think previously they had some type of bridal boutique. We could have a gallery of local high school artsts sponsored by various businesses – a place where graffiti could be applied legally for example. Just a couple more thoughts from me.

  • Wow, that’s an interesting concept. What type of businesses would be best to take advantage of something like this?
